There are many things I l love about the Atlanta LGBTQ community. One of them is that we have a minimum of 4 different pride events.
We have a queer pride called Southern Pride Queer Pride. This is a week-long event that involves art, music and culture.
This same week, we also have Stone Wall March and Rally. This is a more politically charged event. National Pride Month is in june and is inspired by the police raid and riot that happened at the Stone Wall Inn in New York City.
We also have Black Pride for the african american community. In mid-october, we have our more generally inclusive Atlanta Pride. Atlanta Pride happens during October, a month where coming out is celebrated.
